Bovington Tank Museum

We spent our first morning on holiday, having a look around Bovington Tank Museum.

There were a few monuments outside the front entrance for all the fallen soldiers.

You can't really tell by these photo's but the scale of these tanks were immense. Seeing them up close really brings home the destruction that they can inflict. It was scary.

I liked all the painted symbols and graphics on the tanks.

The engineering and how everything was put together was interesting. The early vehicles were like tin cans. The museum has a few tanks you could go inside, they were so small and compact I could barely get my bum in there. I can't imagine what it would be like in the heat of battle.

They has several rooms to look around. It started with the first world war then came up to modern day.

Here's the tank off the film Fury. Brad Pitt featured in it. They donated the tank to the museum when the film was finished.
