Photos from my walk

I was watching telly last night and look what pull up, a gorgeous American vintage car. I love all that stuff, so quickly took a few snaps. I can't believe how long and big the car was, it doesn't show on the photo but it was massive.

I have a new phone so thought I'd try taking some photo's on the way back from walking.

It was such a warm and sunny morning, felt great to be alive.

 

I played around with a few filters. Doesn't this look like an ariel shot of lakes maybe or the surface of mars haha.

 

Unfortunately not, just the sun coming through the trees.

New hobby - Colouring books

For Mothers Day I bought some colouring books and pencils for my mother in law and thought I'd get myself some and have a go. It seems really popular now. They even have colouring clubs in town where you meet people have a coffee and colour away, how bizarre haha.

 

Here's the books I bought.

 

 

I've been into painting and art for years, so dug out my old pencils at the weekend and had a scribble.

This is the first picture I did, I haven't done any colouring in years, so its a bit ropey, but had great fun doing it.

 

My second picture came out better I think. It's was really relaxing and time went by so quick.

Good thing about this hobby is you can do it in short bursts and fit it in between things.

 

 

 

 When the colouring books first came out I must admit I thought it was a bit naff but after trying it out I'm hooked.

 

How to make a quick/inexpensive canvas picture

We have loads of wall space at home which I've been meaning to fill for a while now and finally I had a spare 10 mins and decided to use my fab wall paper sample to create this frame. Thought I'd share it with you.

Step 1 - You'll need:

Large canvas. Glue. Scissors. Paint brush.

Free wall paper sample which can be found in any large DIY store.

 

Our family loves Marvel Hero's so I nabbed a large sheet of this wicked wall paper, when I was plant shopping in the DIY store.

Step 2 - Roll out your chosen design on a flat area and place your canvas roughly where you'd like the picture. Bend the paper over the canvas and score a line, so you know where to stick the frame.

 

 

Step 3 -  spread glue all over your canvas, a thin layer is good, don't forget the sides.

 

 

Step 4 - Stick the canvas down on your scored lines, should be a perfect fit. Make sure to check the design is on straight just in case.

 

 

Step 5 - Cut round your canvas, leave a couple of inches so you can stick the edges down neatly. 

 

 

 

Step 6 - smooth down your picture gently, get rid of any bumps and check position.

 

 

Step 7 - Glue down edges. I always tape them down as well for a bit of extra protection. 

 

 

I wrap the edges like Christmas presents.

 

 

Nice and neat, sort of, no ones going to see the back any way.

A quick and inexpensive project to brighten up any room. When you get bored of the design its easy to rip off and start again.

 

The frame was £2.00 from a discount shop, everything else was either free or we already had.
